Once you find a potential vacant house, you will want to find out who owns the property. The way you can do this is by looking the property up on the County Tax Assessor’s website. Things I look for are:

  • The owner on the title
  • A description of the property (Beds, baths, square footage)
  • How much the taxes cost each year

Most cities and counties have everything listed on their site. If you have questions, you can call your local tax assessor and ask them.

Step 1: Locate your counties tax assessor’s website

It’s a pretty simple process – all you need to look for is the owner’s name and their mailing address. Add that information to your Google Doc or spreadsheet.
